Transfer Tape to DVD

Do you have one of these tapes: VHS, Betamax, Video8, Hi8, MiniDV, Digital8, VHS-C, S-VHS, 8mm, Beta or even DVCam?

Many of our clients have captured hours of precious video footage over the years, only to discover when they come to watch it, that the format they used is now obsolete. Not only is it difficult to conveniently watch this footage now, but VHS and camcorder tapes have a limited life span, irreversibly deteriorating after only a few years. Using our latest professional transcoding system, we can turn your old video tapes (whatever format they may be) into high quality, reliable archive grade DVDs (with a guaranteed 100 year life span). Or, if you prefer, as uncompressed files ready for editing on your PC or Mac.

This is no ordinary video transfer. Our standard transfer process includes the following steps:

It is important that you specify which country you want to play the DVD in, if it’s outside of the UK. We do not:

We cater for formats including: VHS, SVHS, VHSC, SVHC, Beta, Betamax, Video8, Hi8, Digital8, Umatic 3/4inch, MiniDV, Digital 8 and DVCam. If your format is not listed, please give us a call to discuss your requirements.

As a guide, we can fit approx 90 minutes of video onto a DVD at 100% full quality. If your videos are longer than 90 minutes, there are two options:

1. Reduce the quality (not recommended)

2. Split it onto multiple DVD's, although the quality is ultimately limited by the condition of your original footage.

Editing your footage

At the time that we capture your video footage to our analogue to digital conversion, editing and authoring systems during the transfer process, we can also provide a 'digital re-mastering' service to correct faults and enhance your original footage. Need the format of your footage converted for use overseas?

Do you need to transfer between PAL, NTSC or SECAM? Normally DVDs from outside of the US will not play on their machines. This is where we can help. We have the technology and experience to create a DVD that will enable your footage to play in an American continent (USA, Mexico, Canada, South America, etc) machine. The technology we have will enable us to create an exact copy (subject to you having copyright) of your original DVD.
